Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy at Breathe Wellness helps children, adults and older adults build skills, improve daily functioning and participate more confidently in the activities that matter most.
Our Occupational Therapy services focus on three key areas: pediatric care, chronic pain support, and healthy aging. Each treatment plan is personalized to help improve function, independence, confidence and quality of life at home, school, work and in the community.
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a practical, goal-focused form of care that helps people participate more fully in everyday life. At Breathe Wellness in Smithville, our Occupational Therapy services are designed around the individual, with strategies that address physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and environmental factors that may be affecting daily function.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Pediatric Occupational Therapy supports children who may be experiencing challenges with sensory processing, emotional regulation, attention, fine motor skills, school participation or everyday routines. Our occupational therapist works with children and families to develop practical strategies that support confidence, independence and participation at home, at school and in the community.
Occupational Therapy may be helpful for children with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, difficulties with emotional regulation or challenges with tasks such as handwriting, dressing, play and classroom participation.
Chronic Pain Occupational Therapy
Chronic pain can affect far more than physical comfort. It can interfere with work, sleep, household responsibilities, energy levels and participation in everyday activities. Occupational Therapy for chronic pain focuses on helping individuals better manage daily demands while maintaining meaningful activity and independence.
Treatment may include pacing strategies, energy conservation, activity modification, routine planning and practical approaches to help individuals participate in daily life without unnecessarily aggravating symptoms.
Healthy Aging & Older Adult Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy can also play an important role in helping older adults maintain independence, safety and quality of life as their needs change. Support may include mobility and home-safety strategies, cognitive changes, dementia-related challenges, daily routines and aging-in-place planning.
Our goal is to help older adults continue participating in the activities that are important to them while supporting independence and reducing barriers within the home and community.
At Breathe Wellness, Occupational Therapy is part of our broader commitment to providing comprehensive health and wellness care in a welcoming, supportive environment. Whether you are looking for pediatric Occupational Therapy, support for chronic pain, or Occupational Therapy for healthy aging in Smithville or the Niagara region, our team can help you determine the right next step.
